Stayed at The Waterfront for a week on our first trip to Malta, shame that they had the first rain since October!!. We were on the 7th floor and the view across the harbour was breathtaking. The rooms are very clean and the hotel is spotless. The staff are very smart, friendly and helpful. They also have the quietest and smoothest lifts that I have ever been in. A nice feature is that the safe in the room is free. The water in the bathroom is very hot. On the downside, although the bed was comfortable, and the linen spotless, it was only a double size bed, and I would have expected a kingsize at least. The free bottle of wine left in the room was a nice gesture, but a corkscrew may have been useful!! The bar in reception serves the greatest Latte coffee and it is very reasonable priced. The breakfast was a little lacking in imagination, but as we were only there a week it did not really spoil anything. On departure we had to leave at 4.30 am and coffee and snacks had been put in reception for us, a really nice gesture. I would have liked to see a book exchange shelf as I love to read on holiday, and maybe they will consider this. The buses on Malta are cheap and frequent. Beware of the touts who did become a pain, especially in Bugiba. Make sure to Visit St Pauls Shipwreck Church in Valetta, it was stunning.
